remove a program

Maybe you need to stop it running in the background first:-

START>RUN type msconfig click OK> Startup

If you have done that already, try removing it in safe mode.

Yup as petercj said, uninstall it from safe mode...If it gives u an error then install it again nd then uninstall it from safe mode....

update problem

thanks for your help ---But l have a new problem my computer downloaded some updates ..when I tried to start my computer it wouldn't completely boot up..it gets to the point where I click on my name to open the screen then starts the reboot all over again. I can't get into safe mode and if I try most recent configuration it won't work.
This happened to me once before after updates happened and I reinstalled windows xp..but shouldn't there be another solution to this?? Right now I'm using a second drive that already has windows xp on it. Can anyone help? Thanks Jim
