I was given my old desktop unit from work that has Novell Client log on on the hard drive once you boot up. Problem: I do not remember my old password for this desktop. I tried checking the workstation only, but in order to do that I still have to put in a password. Is there a way to remove this and just re-format the hard drive. (I cannot even get to the control panel) I tried inserting my Windows XP CD hoping it would start to overwrite but no luck)

If you want to reformat, then boot from the XP CD, delete the XP partition, format the unpartitioned space as NTFS, then install Windows on it.

Remember to set your bios to book from the cd first!

I would ask your friendly work administrator for the administrator password for the computer.
