The unit works in both Windows 7 and XP when connected to a USB 2 port. The PCI Express USB 3 adapter card has power connected to it via a Molex connector internally and a light comes on to show the power is connected. Windows 7 Disc Manager sometimes lists the drive but says it has to be initialised. When I try to do this it makes some reference to a missing file which I don't understand. All drivers were checked in Device Manager as detailed in the adapter card instructions and I get a sound alert when I plug in the USB 3 cable. Windows XP will not recognise the drive at all in USB 3 mode but does so in USB 2 mode.
