Are some people behing a router with a Firewall or NAT? Does everyone have port 3389 open/forwarded? This port is used to connect with the Remote Assistance.
They also may be getting this error if you send the invite via email AND they have not used Windows Messenger in some time. MS requires that Windows Messenger is at the latest version to work, and if they never used the program it could need updating. Also, Remote Assistance goes through Windows Messenger, so the messenger must be updated to work.
