I don't see how you can fix it remotely, if it will not go online. How are you able to connect to it?

Hi all,
I'm attempting to fix my parents computer from my mac (please don't hate me it's being used for a good cause). All i know is that they're running XP and I can't access the internet to download the necessary things to fix their hefty virus problem

Boot your parents machine into Safe Mode with Networking to download the tools. They are both small downloads and should be quick for you.
1) Restart the computer
2) After hearing the computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Use the up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode with Networking and press Enter.
Download dds.scr and gmer. You can stay in Safe Mode and run those tools. Post the reports in your next reply.
