Remap HID device to keystrokes

Sup sup. Hope i am putting thread in correct place.

I bought a roll up usb drum kit with the intent to use the large pads to play my own sounds on press rather than remap the keyboard and use tiny keys.

Now i need a way to map the pads to a keystroke so they play the sounds.

I want to press the pad. That triggers (for example) the G key which is mapped to play a sound. But i cant find any remapping software for HID devices. Only game controllers. Gave auto key a go but it messed with me head.

ANY help would be epicdary (especially if its not autokey)...
