ok so, I managed to successfully install all 11 cds that were send to me for reinstalling my windows xp. I get to this point where it looks like im able to use my computer, but I see windows open, majorly one of them called "System restore tool V2" or something like that, which says "will put an end to user" or something, I don't reallt recall. It has the options "Factory" and other 2, and I'm really confused on what to do. Also, on the top left corner of the screen, is this little bar that just sits at 0% for some reason. Please help, I'm confused!

ps; if it helps, before all this happens, it put me in a blue screen that said "please be patient as this is a one step process" - "do not turn off or restart your computer during this time" - "ignore any pop up messages until you are promted to restart or shut down" which in the last one, I never am, It just takes me to what I previously said with the system tool thing"

11 Cds?? Really?!? Because the Windows XP installation files can easily fit onto one 700mb cd. Vista comes on a single DVD, which is about 7 cds.

Where did you receive these cds from, xp ought to be a straight forward installation?

are the cd's numbered from 1-11

factory and other

factory will restore to the day you received it

other is probably a non destructive restore which leaves your files intact

well after waiting 16 hours for the "one-time process" to be over, I finally saw System Prep Tool V2, its called like that, and I had the usual "Factory" "Audit" and another one that says press this if you want to quit the current user "put an end to user'. I pressed Factory, and my computer shut off. I turned it back on, and it said "Please wait while Windows XP starts up" so I thought its finally done, and to my surprise, that screen where I pressed Factory popped up again, and in 2 secods, it was gone, and that "one-time process" screen showed up again, and from the looks of it, I'll have to wait another 16 hours

this is really pissing me off, help
