my pc is really messed up, someone suggested running reimage before I attempt to do a format and reinstall. anyone have any suggestions? or know if reimage is the way to go . thank you

and welcome to the Forum

Imageing makes a exact copy of the system . . warts and all . . If the system is messed up, that may not be vdery useful.

You can easily copy any data you cherish to external media and restore that once you have a stable and protected system

This is a good guide to reinstalling XP . . you might want to print it for reference during the install.

I agree with simpswr.
The time to image is right after a fresh install, once the drivers and any programs like Service packs, Acrobat and such are loaded.
Then if in the future you have troubles you can reinsert the image and it will be identical to the way it was when the image was taken.
