ok, on my previous year and a half old gateway computer.
I switched burners for a little while, now i added the old one back in, and now when i power it up, with only a psu plug and monitor plug, plugged in. The mobo has a little red light that turns on.

And the monitor says power saving mode, then the little power button on monitor goes orange, its usually blue.

thanks

"Burners"? My mobo has a red light that turns on too- to indicate that it's drawing power. Pretty much any monitor goes into "power saving" mode when it's not getting a signal- to keep from burning up the monitor and to, well, save power. Is your video card supposed to be connected to the PSU?
