Long story short, I went away for a few days (Grandfather was in hospital) and I hadn't paid my electric bill. They shut off power and when it came back on the power surge got to my computer hard drive.

I can still access my files, but the drive has errors which were fixed, but I've experienced frequent lockups, slowdowns, etc.

I bought a new 320GB SATA drive since everything else seemed okay. Even the power supply showed good voltage, but I decided to put it all in a new case anyway with a Raidmax 450watt PS.

I hooked up the old drive temporarily to save some files to the new drive, but one thing I can't figure out.. how can I get stuff off my old desktop? It says it cannot be accessed. Probably because my account had a password on it.

There isn't much on the desktop that I needed anyway, but I was programming some Atari 2600 games and I had some files there I believe, and a few graphics I'd like to have.
