Hi. I've got a Gateway Solo laptop and I'm trying to record audio onto a software program called DartPro. The problem is there is this faint 'click' sound that ticks in 2 second intervals in the system somewhere that I cannot track down and eliminate, and it appears on my recordings, ruining them. I've called Gateway Tech Support and they have NO idea what it is. Could anyone help me, please? Thanks!

Hi Dan,

If it's a trial version of the software, there'll usually be some protection feature such as clicks in the recorded audio until you actually pay for the software. I know Sonic Foundry does this with their audio software. Once you register the software, they'll send you a code that "unlocks" the protection feature and the clicks will be gone (but not from material you recorded prior to registering).

Check into that, I had that same audio clicking problem with Sonic Foundry's Video Factory trial version. It disappeared when I registered and received a software "key" from them.
