That is the message I get from Nero when I try to burn a cd. The computer thinks that my CDRW is a standard CD-ROM - in fact it is using a Microsoft standard cd-rom drvier (mscdrom.inf). I have removed the drive from my device manager, I have physically removed the CDRW from the computer and reinstalled it - nothing - the computer doesn't recognize it as new hardware. It just automatically adds it back as a standard cd-rom. Windows will not let me update the driver - it keeps telling me that the best driver is already in use - BUT ITS A CD-ROM driver!
