Not sure if this is the right section for this. I know we have a suggested builds section but I'm looking to purchase a laptop for gaming and have never really shopped for a laptop.

I'm super satisfied with my gaming PC but would like something I can bring with me on the go and have all my games.

My budget is 1,000-1,200$ usd. I play league of legends, path of exile mostly. However I would like this device to be able to play ALL current games and future games for a while at least, on highest settings, like my current PC can do.

I insist on a disc drive, and like lots of ports because I plug in lots of stuffs like sd and msd cards, external hdds, etc.

Any suggestions on better buys for my buck?

The MSI isn't a bad option, but for gaming laptops Asus has that market on lockdown.

Something like this would work well too:

It uses the previous 4th i7 generation CPU over the MSI's newer 5th generation, but I'd still favor the Asus due to the cooling performance and better graphics card.

What about something with NOT the previous generation i7 but a graphics card and cooling performance as good as the asus?

Is something like that in my price range?

The only two bigger brands in gaming laptops are Asus and MSI.

The i7 on both of these will perform perfectly well and the better GPU will do better for games.

What about "alienware," is that something I should consider you think?

Alienware lives off their name and their products can be a hit or miss. You end up paying a lot more for Alienware.
