I have a Realtek High Definition Sound Card inbuilt in my MSI P7N SLI Platinum mobo.I have got a Creative Inspire 4.1 Speakers.The sound card is having 8. channels of sound but when i actually plug my two speakers cord one for rear and other for front the sound comes only from front.But when i test through realtek's software sound comes from all the speakers but while listening to songs and playin games sound doesnt come from rear speakers at all.I have also downloaded latest drivers and removed the old one using driver cleaner.This happens in windows vista Ultimate.

But using windows XP all speakers works perfectly.Please Help..........

Almost sounds as if you don't have the onboard audio as your default playback device.

Have you looked in Control Panel > Sound. Playback will be the first tab. Make sure that the Realtek HD audio codec has a green check next to it.
