Reading S.m.a.r.t values Over RAID Cards?

I'm in need of halp again >_>

I have aqquired a Adaptec 2610SA6 Port SATA raid controller, i have all the drivers for it, and it's running fine, and is very easy to manage via Adaptec or HP storage manager (same thing imo)

Only recently i was gifted a 500gb Seagate SATA hdd with slight motor bearing problems. I plan to use it:

To hold files for backup, sent to it from various other pc's - it needn't be long, just to burn the files off, and really it's just something to play round with.

More to the point: Is there a program to read the smart values of the drive, that will work over a raid controller? I've Tried HD Tune Pro Harddrive Sentinel, Everest pro & Everest Corp & HDDlife. These are mainly consumer progs for desktop's, not servers i guess. But enough rambling...

halp?
