I’m pretty sure this is a hardware problem but really do not know how to check it to make sure. My machine has a NEC DVD_RW ND-1300a and a LC CD-ROM CRD-8483b if I burn something with the NEC the LC can see it but the NEC can not. Other drives seem to be able to see these disks but the drive that made them can not. Upgraded the firmware in NEC but it made no difference. Using Roxio 9 to burn with, have been using Roxio and this drive for a long time, just upgraded to roxio 9 from 8 to see if that would make a difference it did not, other than that haven't changed anything as far as software. Also the NEC has no problem seeing DVD's it makes only CD's and you can not boot from the NEC but can from the LC. I checked old backups made with this drive and it sees both DVD's and CD's it is only the new ones it can not see.
