Are cooling pads really necessary to prevent overheating of laptop? I have similar problem, I don't know if it's because I'm charging the battery while using it.

My acer aspire 7530G does it need a cooling pad,it depends on a variety of things ie temp of the room your working in, where in the room your using it ie a hard flat surface on your lap or a sofa,Heat is a issue with most laptops think about how much hardware which creates heat is crammed in a small space,it is true that some suffer more than others and if that is the case a cooling pad can be of help
