Hi everyone

Am trying to re-install windows XP on my SATA Maxtor 120Gig. The contoller is the famous Promise SATA378. :4-dontkno

Right now my PC works and the promise contoller BIOS finds the Hard drive and boots but I would like to re-install windows because my PC seems to be running pretty slow lately. So I insert my windows XP CD, i change the boot setting in my BIOS to boot from CD, that is no problem, when windows starts to install I hit the F6 key and insert the SATA controller driver disk, and I select the WinXP Promise SATA378 (tm) IDE Controller from the floppy but then windows does not detect my SATA drive, all it detects right now is my Maxtor 80gig that I have hooked up to my primary IDE contoller. Can someone please help with this , I've tried different promise controller drivers, nothing seems to work for me right now.

have you set the jumpers on the new drive.

Hey Bonk

It's not a new drive, am using the SATA drive right now. There is no jumpers on a SATA drive, right now it's plugged in as Drive 1 on the promise controller!!!

Nobody has weird of this problem with this controller???
