Re: Built a new PC and can't get video to come on

And your helping a stranger with the same problem. I'm having the same problem with my new build; no video. I'm going disassemble and run the suggested 'benchpress' first thing in the morning. I'll start a new thread if things don't work out.

Re: Built a new PC and can't get video to come on

I'm so glad I searched out this forum. I did indeed 'bench' test this build. When I took the motherboard out of the case and ran a bare bones test everything worked fine. I slowly pieced things togethor, testing the PC as I built it. This time when I installed the MB in the case I used the brass spacer bolts to detach the MB from the case. Not only did the MB fit better the system continued to operate.

So I'm up and running. Now I'm wondering if I need to configure this brand new Hard Drive or if I can just load my Windows 7 for system Builders and proceed?

You can intall the drive and format it from win 7 install. ***note win 7 install will show splash screen then theres a significant delay before the prompt boxes come up be patient the pc isn't frozen lol***

I prefer zeroing a Hdd if it had a previous OS installed but Windows will do a format before installation.
