I know I could have been more descriptive. But here is how it works. I am always keeping track of my CPU power and my RAM. I have 6GB RAM on a 64bit system and a quad core Athlon II Proccessor by AMD.

Anyway, my system boots up beautifully with a measily 1.7GB of RAM used by the OS. 25%.

Anyway, there are times it goes to 3GB because I'm playing games or other things.

My issue is my proccessor cores are almost ALWAYS at 2%. There are random times when my RAM will go all the way to 60-90% with my cores all running at 95% for no reason oncesoever. I have Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. I really hope I'm not infected as I would hate to reformat completely. Is there a way to check?

I open task manager and close everything I can to get my proccessing power back down, but the only fix is a reboot to restore everything. Help?

Usually, it is system settings. The most used are Explorer.exe, dwm.exe, sidebar.exe PDapp.exe, and CLMCSvc.exe. Right now, those are running and I'm going about 20%. At a random point, I will be 100% with these exact same proccesses, except my CPU says 0 on all the proccesses. :p

Uninstall your Adobe CS program and your Cyberlink program (they're the one's using the most CPU that aren't Windows files).

Also, what antivirus/internet security are you using? I had a similar issue at work today. We removed McAfee on a hunch and it fixed things.

I am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. Normally, my CPU is fine. There are random spikes if I leave it on for 6 hours where I must reboot. Any ideas behind why it does this? I have a Quad core CPU.

I am going to check the health report. The task manager shows all my resources randomly getting used and in proccesses during that time, it says nothing is using them. I hope the health report will tell me what is using my resources or all 4 or my proccessors? I can run Crysis Warhead with each of my cores at 20% or less... what program could possibly take more than Crysis?

Here is the full service

Here is a copy of what I found when I tried the health report. The number in the bottem right is my RAM. That is out of 6000MB. That is a little high for what I usually have but Microsoft Word and MMF2 are decently sized.

EDIT: I had a picture, but I figured the entire file would be better to analyze.
