My system (Linux, although I don't think that has anything to do with it) has been randomly powering down lately.

It started just shutting off whenever it felt like it. I couldn't detect a pattern with it. At first, I thought it was the power supply, so I tried a different one. Still did it. I tried a new motherboard (same model). Same issue. I've removed both of the sticks of RAM to no avail. I've even swapped out a different video card and it still does it.

Like I said, completely random when it happens. Sometimes it's even refused to turn on in the first place. Any ideas?

No error message, just shuts off.

did you completely uninstall the drivers and software when changing video cards
check for swollen or leaking capacitors

It it shutting off even when in BIOS, so it doesn't have anything to do with the OS.

Capacitors on the mobo? Even after swapping in a second one?

you have the cpu fan plugged into the cpu fan power socket check it is turning
try it with only 1 stick of ram in
