Whenever I try to play some games or open certain programs, my computer will freeze and lock up. While it unfreezes numerous beeps come through the speakers, depending how much I click the mouse while it is frozen. Some days the computer will freeze up when opening these applications and other days it does. It also freezes up when I try to use the Steam In-Game feature. It also freezes right after windows logs in and when I shut down the computer. It doesn't always happen, some days it will be fine all day with no freezes. It is not an overheating issue because my case has many vents/fans and liquid cooled CPU. My graphics card drivers are up to date and I even re-seated my graphics card and ram sticks. I tried looking for viruses/malware and my computer is clean.
Here is an example of the problem when I try to open up TeamSpeak 3.
Video

Any suggestions?

Here are my specs:
-i7 930 @ 3.36Ghz
-Radeon 5870 1GB
-6 GB DDR3 Ram @ 1333Mhz (Triple Channel)
-1.5TB HDD
-x58 Chipset Motherboard
-Windows 7 Home 64 bit

I have also posted this issue on the tech support on reddit here. Didn't really get much help.

What power supply do you have?

What are your BIOS voltage readings (12 V, 5 V, 3.3 V)?

When was the last time you re-installed Windows?

We will also need a better idea of the hardware setup and the software setup to provide troubleshooting steps.

System Health Report:
Please collect your system health report:

  1. Press the Start Button

  2. Type perfmon /report into the Search programs and files box.

  3. Press Enter

  4. Click File

  5. Click Save As...

  6. Choose HTML as the output and save it for upload here

MSINFO32 upload:
Please upload your msinfo32.nfo file. To get this:

  1. Click the Start Button

  2. Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box and press Enter

  3. When it opens, click File

  4. Click Save

  5. Save as msinfo32.nfo and save in a place you will remember

  6. Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info

  7. Right click the .nfo file

  8. Click Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder

  9. Upload the .zip file here.

Administrative Logs:
Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:
  1. Click the Start Button
  2. Type eventvwr.msc into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
  3. Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
  4. Expand Custom Views
  5. Click Administrative Events and give it time to load
  6. Right click Administrative Events
  7. Save all Events in Custom View As...
  8. Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
  9. When asked, save the display information in English.
  10. Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
  11. Create a new folder by right clicking in a blank area within the folder Errors.evtx is saved in. You could also click New Folder at the top of the directory under the directory path box.
  12. Name the new folder Errors.
  13. Place Errors.evtx and the LocaleMetaData folder into the new Errors folder.
  14. Right click the Errors folder -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
  15. Upload the .zip file here.

Hardware Setup:
Download and install CPU-Z and Upload screenshots of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs. In the SPD tab, upload an image of each slot. To upload all screenshots, it would be best to:
  1. generate the images using the Snipping Tool,
  2. go to where the images are saved,
  3. right click in a blank area within the folder where the images are saved,
  4. create a new folder,
  5. name the folder CPUZ,
  6. select all the images,
  7. place the pointer over an image,
  8. press and hold down the left mouse button and drag the image (all images should move with it),
  9. drop the images into the CPUZ directory you created,
  10. create a compressed (zipped) folder of CPUZ
  11. upload the .zip file to the forums.

Download the System Health Report

After reviewing one of the reports/errors I noticed a lot of VM-Ware related messages. So I uninstalled it and now I am not getting the freezing after I rebooted. Maybe it's gone but remember this thing doesn't always happen. There are some days when the computer is fine but most of the time the freezing occurs.

Wouldn't be the first time I've seen VMWare cause conflicts; it does have issues with some antivirus programs. Most of the errors I see are related to AVG; did you recently replace AVG with avast!?

I have this exact power supply. It is from Dell since I have an Alienware desktop. I looked through the BIOS and I can not find the voltage readings anywhere. (Sorry for the double post I couldn't edit my original response)

I did but awhile ago. My gaming community told me it was better for some reason but then I switched back to Avast!. And to answer your original question no I have never re-installed windows.

The freezing is back, uninstalling VMWare didn't help.

I received your PM.

I am currently suffering from some health issues at the moment and need to take it easy. As a result, I am taking a break from the forums for a bit to sort out my health. In the meantime, hopefully someone else will help you out. To provide that help, they may need the information asked for before.

You should also provide the following information:
Please provide your temperatures during idle (when not running any programs and just sitting on the desktop).

Please provide your temperatures during stress (running a game, using hardware diagnostic software, rendering a video, running a full virus scan, etc.).

Use the following programs to monitor the temperatures.

Use HWMonitor to provide the voltages seen during idle and under stress, as well. Please capture an image of HWMonitor using the snipping tool rather than saving a text file.
