Random crashes/installing COD2
Hey everyone. I know this has been asked a THOUSAND times before but I hav'nt got a clue what to do.
I bought COD2, inserted the disc and even before anything loaded it crashed saying "Call of Duty(R) 2 has stopped working"
I disabled UAC and all background programs and tried again...No dice.
I then attempted to install the game through Explore>Setup.exe. The game installed and I finally had a smile on my face. I then clicked on the COD2 icon to play the game, a picture of a soldier with "Call of Duty 2" writing across him came up, the screen then went black and I heard a warning tone. I pressed Esc and saw the following message, "Create2Dtexture failed . I tried running it with Windows XP compatibility. FAIL!. I ran it as adminastrator and got " Please insert correct CD/DVD rom and restart.
