Long story short: I downloaded ComboFix onto my mother's Windows (Vista or 7, I'm not sure) computer, and yes, I know I'm not supposed to run it unsupervised, but assuming that what I downloaded was an installed, double clicked.

It appears that ComboFix either deleted or quarantined every single application.

When I now try to open any application--from Firefox, to Chrome, to Calculator, it tells me "Illegal operation attempted on a registry marked for deletion."

My little brother tells me that I should do a system restore (and that I'm computer illiterate for not knowing how) but I haven't used a PC for more than occasional internet in a long time (My laptop is a Macbook and my school computers are all Mac and Ubuntu. The last time I used a PC as my primary computer, I think I was using Windows 98.)

Any rate, help please?
