I posted this over in overclocking and haven't received a response, so I thought I'd try here;

I have Corsair XMS2 PC6400-2, TWIN2X2048-6400C4, 2GB total, 2X1GB each. On the stick it says 4-4-4-12 2.1v, in BIOS and CPUID it shows 5-5-5-15 at 1.8v. Will I notice any improvement by changing the voltage to 2.1v? Will the tighter timings do much for general purpose use? (no video editing or gaming).
mobo- Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L

It wont change much. Running them at the speed and voltage they are at now, however, should give them a longer life than rated.
You can adjust the timings and voltage in BIOS to the rated numbers, then boot XP and see if you notice any difference, it cant harm to try.
