Hi i have a gigabyte mobo and some 800 mhz ballixtic ram 2 gb pack..the timings on the pack say 4 4 4 12 ,,but in my bios they say 5 4 4 17 ...I went into bios and changed them to the better timings,,,how ever the is a opyion in advanced ram timings TRC 23 ,Which i never changed,,
So i click on cpuz and checked my timings and the trc was 23 but the jedec says 4 4 4 12 trc was 24 ,,,Do i change the trc 23 to 24 in bios ,,and wat is this timing,Hope you get my drift thanks for any help ..:pray:

AUTO settings in BIOS are often a bit lax to ensure operability. In any case, minute differences (such as a TRC of 23 or 24) aren't noticeable anyway. In my experience, unless you are OCing and trying to squeeze out every last bit of speed possible in benchmarks, it isn't worth the effort. You aren't likely to notice any difference in everyday real world usage by the RAM timings being a bit soft.

thanks for reply .i see there (trc) not that important..I just installed windows 7 64 bit yesterday ,with 4 gb 800 nhz corsair xms2 ram,running sli gts 250 ,Iv`e left the timings to what the bios sets as this is causinh no problems in games such as gta 4 .modern warefare 2 e.t.c.I must say windows 7 64 bit runs like a dream and so easy to use its actually a joy to use,I cannot beleive microsoft have got a o/s as good or not better than xp.
Is it worth doubling up to 8 gb ram or is 4 gb ram enuff.:grin:
