i just recently purchased a 256m stick of crucial pc133 sync ram
it is for my older dell machine, it was running a
64m stick factory m brand and crucial 256 stick pc133 sync

so i bought an additional crucial listed above and swapped it w/ the
64m stick and it does not seem like it i working,
its weird cause it says i have 288 in ram in the bios

i examined the 2 crucial sticks and the only diff in text is
one is 256mb pc133 sync ram cl2
and (new) 256mb pc133 sync ram cl3

did i order wrong stuff?

everything seemed to snug double checked a few times
weird thing is if I swap the location of each stick
it does not give me a picture on screen...

thanks for any help

greetings

dell is picky on the ram

you could try to manually slow the ram down in bios, but i think you would be better off getting clk3.

its just it was working fing mixing the 2 with the prior set-up

a 64 mb cl3 and a 256 cl2

why wouldnt a 256 cl3 and a 256 cl2 work?

sry for ignorance

its just the way it is
you could try different banks, switch them, but some motherboards are very selective with ram make - model - and timings
