ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe WiFi Motherboard

Help!!

I have an Intel E8600 supported by an ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe WiFi Motherboard.

At present, I have 2 x 2GB of DDR 1333 Ram in Channel A.

I have an additional 2 x 4GB of DDR 1333 and wish to add it to my set up.

Problem is, how do you put it on the board????

I have an ASUS P5Q3 motherboard which supports an Intel E8600 Core 2 Duo.

I have 2 x 2Gb of Ram in channel A.

I have 2 x 4GB of the same RAM that I want to add to the board. How can I add it so that 12GB is on the board. The manual gives no idea

Re: ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe WiFi Motherboard

First of all, for best performance, your current memory should be installed with one DIMM in each channel, either in slots A1 and B1 (brown) or A2 and B2 (orange).

I would pull your current memory out, then install the new kit in slots A1/B1. Confirm the memory is not DOA and the system is running stable. Once confirmed, reinstall your current memory in slots A2/B2 and retest. Not all boards will run stable with four DIMMs installed without at least some tweaking in BIOS.

I would use only the new RAM. Mixing the RAM may cause issues and 8GB is commonly more than enough.
