I had 64 megs of ram pc 133, and just recently added another 128 mb pc 133. Once I added the ram, it would not detect it, then even more.. when I put the 64 mb back in, it wont detect that. Any ideas of what it could be?

Did you unplug the power supply first?

Get a flashlight and look at the ram slots. Make sure they are not bent. Sometimes forcing ram in the slot can bend the pins. If they are ok, line up the notches on the ram with the notches on the ram slots. The white things on the end of the ram slots should be open or laying back. When you seat the ram correctly, the white locks should come up and latch into the notches on either side of the ram. If they don't, then the ram is not installed properly.

MAKE SURE YOUR POWER CORD IS NOT PLUGGED IN WHEN YOU ATTEMPT THIS.

Hi idtent and Welcome to the forum,

Do a simple POST test... Power on the PC with out any memory in it and listen if you could hear the system beeps... If so then you could go ahead and make sure that the RAM is correctly seated and in place...
