what will be the major difference if i buy

DDR2 Ram @ 1111MHz
over cheaper ram
DDR2 Ram @ 533MHz
will i notice dramatic difference?

also my mobo states DDR2 RAM 533/667/800 (Max 8GB)
does that mean,
no point gettin 1111Mhz then? b/c itl not go faster than 800Mhz?
if this the case, will i notice dramatic difference between 800Mhz over 533.

newbie~

thanks

You probably won't notice a significant difference if any at all. And if you purchase any RAM faster than 800 MHz, It will only run at 800 MHz.

BTW, if this is a Core 2 Duo system, I would get the 533 MHz RAM.

533 ram is good at stock, but then there will be no oc headroom at all, he will be limited by the ram's max frequency. in order to oc c2d, at least ddr2 800 ram is needed, as then it could be put on the 1:1 divider (533), and the fsb can be increased far past 266 (as high as the ram or mobo can go, good mobo with good ram can pass 450fsb). ofcourse, if no oc is planned, faster ram will not have any tangible difference over 533 ram.

thanks for reply,
im not planning to OC, so il just get 667 DDR2,
i asked as i dont want to waste money on useless ram if its not going to perform. il take you guys word for it lol
(just out of curiosity, in general, higher frequency is for ppl who OC?)

@ TheMatt "BTW, if this is a Core 2 Duo system, I would get the 533 MHz RAM."
why 533 not higher?
im planning quad core. qx6700.... what do u recomend for that? and yes, looks like 800 is my max.

(sorry for all these questions,)
