Greetings,

Today I bought a new Radeon HD 4850 video card (and 500W PS for it) and while the card itself works fine, I now have a problem with my keyboard I didn't have before. Occasionally I get random keyboard input (random gibberish) and sometimes I get delay when typing (I'll type a letter, and three keystrokes later it'll come up).

I'm typing this on another keyboard I borrowed (which works fine) and my keyboard worked fine on my old video card, they just don't seem to get along together. Any help on this issue would be appreciated, thank you.

Hmm well the card specs say that 450W is the minimum. Is there a way I can check if the 500W is being overtaxed? Also, there are no keyboard drivers. It's a cordless PS/2 keyboard.

That 4850 actually makes it into the 600w+ category. The ati software could be slowing the computer up. Try the latest drivers for the motherboard too and the latest bios.

Huzzah!

I disconnected my optical drives and rebooted my computer, and voila! no more lag. It was indeed an inadequate power supply that was causing the lag. You have my sincerest thanks for your help =D
