Quick Question about MS Word...

V.random and probs something i've overlooked but here goes...

Basically i'm having problems deleting text within a word document.... hear me out :p

When i highlight text and then go to delete it using backspace... it wont delete, but it will with the del. key

Same deal when i highlight text and then type something to replace it... means i have to del. the text the rewrite ... which is annoying :D

Hopefully some1 knows if this is a setting or something that i've changed - its been like this for as long as i can remember and its not bothered me *too* much... but now i'm having to edit a dissertation which would be a lot more convenient if i could highlight and replace the text

You can change editing options in Word. Look for Editing options in the Options dialog box and check the option Typing replaces selected text.
