Hi -- After a hard drive crash in July, my computer got into the habit of disabling my Quick Launch icons.

First, the show desktop icon stopped working, but I found the answer on your site. Today the calculator icon has stopped. I tried searching through the Microsoft Support site, but that was a dizzying task.

Can you help? And is there anything I can do to keep this from happening?

I pray that it doesn't start happening to my other programs.

Thank you, as always.

If this is a recurring issue then I call foul play! Run a virus and adware/spyware scan. It may also be that the HDD has become corrupted and cannot properly store and retrieve random pieces of data.

Hi -- Obviously I should have run the spyware and virus checks before writing to you. AdAware found 165 critical objects and a bunch of negligible ones, all of which I have removed. Spybot found more. I just ran HiJack This and here is my log. Please let me know if anything looks suspicious. And if you can tell me how to get my calculator back, I would appreciate it!! :sayyes:

I think there's a section dedicated to hijack logs and the like, bro.
