i just got one off ebay this week and my son has one in matte mine is gloss i paid more than i should for it because obviously it has an issue can someone explain to me what exactly is the 4 gb data storage is not found when turning it on i can not access anything unless I have a thumbdrive that has been used with his system... so my issue is I have 5 days in which to contact the seller and tell him what is wrong with it i already said there was an issue but thought is was me when i was able to log in finally so i can bring this back up if i know what really is the issue and i dont come across as an outdated idiot my sons play it but they work too much to talk to about this so i am asking here please help and thanks in advance
oh this may help.
there is no storage found if there is no flash drive inserted and can the integrated drive be removed? i thought integrated meant it was part of the system

okay i just did some extensive research and here is what i found out : the gloss system was manufactured the same time frame as the matte finish slim model although there are very few differences there is one major difference, the matte finish model has an on board storage of 4 gb which is great since you do not need to have the internal slot holding a hdd in order to play the system, where the gloss finish model is sold with a 250 gb hdd which is utilizing the internal slot for storage while both of these systems can be upgraded the one that can play without an internal hdd is the matte finish. the ebayer who sold me the system had the item being sold as a gloss and had the item description for a matte finish model so this was misleading and i just ordered a 250 gb hdd for it and we will see what he decides to do to make this right.. not much he can do if i ordered the hdd on my own if he says to replace it with a 4 gb matte finish one i now have a 250 gb hdd for it as well. either way i am not getting stuck with a system that wont play and i just spent as much as I would have to buy a new one so sad.. but buyer be ware i didnt know there was a difference between the matte and gloss finish as they were manufactured the same time frame shame on xbox for confusing me.. haha or was it the ebayer who did that.. but this will help someone in the future i am certain..
