my freind has a hp pavilion elite .. curious if anyone can direct me in which power supply unit to buy.. im thinking 500wat one? if theres a website to buy them from or ill jus look on ebay..thanks guys

What is the complete Model Number?
Has any hardware, particularly a GPU, been added or upgraded from the original configuration?
SeaSonic-most XFX-Corsair are top quality PSU's.

GPU u mean graphics card? he never had a problem or upgraded g card.. just suddenly started turning on for 2sec then shuts down on n off ..m9040n is the model number

Yes-GPU=Graphics Processing Unit (video card).
The m9040n that I find came with a 8400GS PCI-E GPU.
You will want a minimum 550W good quality PSU.
