Hello, my name is metzloyd and my question is rather a simple one.
I have just purchased a MagicJack which if you don't know what that is,
a devise you plug into a USB port on your computer so that gives
you the ability to hook a phone up to your computer, and so far it's a
wonderful devise that seems to work great. Now for my question,
to make the phone work 24/7 you have to leave your computer on
24/7 so that is my question. Is it harmful for your computer if you
leave unit on 24/7 and only turn off your monitor? Any helpful infor-
mation would be deeply appreciated, and thanks.

simple answer: not really. Most businesses use their PC's on all week and only turn them off at weekend. I myself regularly leave my home laptop on all the time without no problems.

As long as your computer is kept in a well ventilated area, you should have no problems.

As everyone else has said, it is not inherently bad to leave your computer on 24/7. The company I work for leaves all PC's on all the time, except for a reboot once a week.
