Question about digital sound.

hey everyone,
I'm not very well acquainted with sound systems or setting them up. My question is: without digital speakers is it still possible to listen to digital sound? I have z-5300 speakers and i'm planning on buying an Audigy 2ZS or maybe a pro. The pro version comes with a digital reciever, so will it be possible to somehow get a digital signal to the speakers? (convert from anolog to digital somewhere in the process while using optical cables). This is probably a very dumb question but I would really appreciate any help you guys can give. Thanks

The "Digital" in speakers are for advertizing only. All speakers are analog. The Audigy has lots of digital music processing but has to convert these to a signal any speaker can use, so just plug your's in and you should hear music...

There are speaker sets that have digital input and onboard decoders for surround sound (which in turn feed the speakers). If this is what you're looking at then the Audigy can provide the digital feed to one of these sets.
