Question about Answering Machines

805 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  dai
Hi Folks;

I want an answering machine that I can buy and put on my desk… Pretty simple right? There are hundreds of ‘em.

But what I want to do is interface with this local answering machine through my computer [XPPro].

My analogy is that it would work just like a digital camera only with sound files. It would record the incoming messages as a normal answering machine and would function even if the computer is up in smoke. However there would be some wire that would run from the answering machine to my computer so I could download/listen to/save the messages on the computer.

Does anybody know of a machine that would work this way?, or a way to kluge up something… I’ve Googled around with no luck, but then I’m not even sure what you’d call such a system/feature.

Any comments would be gratefully received.

i think you can plug an answering machine onto the s/blaster card,try a search along those lines
from memory it is the tad connection[telephone answering device] next to the aux and cd connection on the inside of the box
