Ok I have an acer aspire x1200 desktop and I was burning a dvd a dvd when my computer froze on me so I shut the compter off and tried to restart and now pxe e61 error message keeps poping up. I have tried pulling out the wires from the back of the hard drive and putting them back in, changing the boot sequence, pulling out the cmos battery, disabling the onboard lan, but nothing works keep getting the same message, the computer detects the hard drive and I can hear it run but its like it wont load the os through it or something. I have no clue on what to do or what is wrong please help.

I would love to run a diagnostic test put I thought that wasnt possible unless the computer will load windows, mine just stalls at the black start up screen and gives me the pxe e61 error.

I once had a problem similar to this. The cause: a bad CMOS battery.

When the battery failed the first boot device became the network. I replaced the battery, reset the boot order, and all was well.
