Puter goes back in time

Once again, my computer thinks that it is December 31,2001. It has done this once before and I tried to system restore it and I lost everything on my hard drive. This time I just restarted and it went back in time but everything is new programs, and bios info is back to the original 1015.002 I put a new battery in the mobo, that's not the problem. I have since tried to update the bios, by downloading from asus to floppy the latest 1019, and renaming the file P4P800.ROM, The file is not found on the floppy and their for the bios is not updated. I'm not worried about the bios right now, I need to know why the computer keeps going back in time. Has anyone ever seen or heard of this happening?

Welcome to TSF:

Sounds like a messed up bios to me ????? many of the newer bios files cant be installed using ez-flash !!!! I would research the manual and use the afudos method / its much more relaible and trouble free !!!!

then update your bios file

joe
Your BIOS may have been infected by a virus, which would cause the date error and possibly the inability to flash it. If this BIOS chip built-in or is it removable?
