I have been having problems with my computer recently, and I decided to check to see if the PSU was fault by seeing if the problem went away with a different PSU installed. All I could find was one of the same make and wattage, so I fitted it to the computer. When I turned the power on at the wall, I heard a popping sound. It wasn't a quiet pop, but it wasn't exactly a booming sound. There wasn't any smoke or a smell of burning.
I've checked all the fuses in the plugs and they're fine, but I'm worried about using that power unit again. I plan to put the old unit back into the computer to make sure the computer itself isn't damaged, but I don't know what to do about the new PSU.
