Ello... Ktoe here...

My brother got a refurbished ps2 that runs fine must off the time, but during the hot humid summer months it just growls a lot and refuses to read cds.
Any ideas what the problem is and can it be fixed? or Am I stuck till the humnidty goes down every summer?

Interesting problem.

The only thing that I can think of that helps humidity would be some dessicant. It might be a bit unorthodox, but if you can get some of those little packets of it, (shouldn't cost more than a buck apiece maybe?), then you can tape one to the disc tray overnight. (make sure it can open and close all the way). See if that helps.

If it doesn't, then I suppose you could try a large brick of dessicant, but I would guess that that is pretty exspensive.

Other than that, I know of no other way to deal with humidity and electronics.
