I have an Alienware computer Model. MJ 12 trying to load Windows XP. I have gotten the Promise driver loaded on a floppy and it sees the drives. It then will format the hard drive and start the Windows copy. It gets to the ulsata driver and cant see the floppy USB drive.

Is there suppose to be a USB driver loaded as well or is there something I am missing.

Thanks in advanced for any help.

Don't have a solution to your specific problem, but here are some workarounds.
- you could get into the BIOS, set the SATA controller to act like an ATA one (settings might be named legacy IDE, native SATA, AHCI, or other, just look around).
if you really want the benefits of SATA after installation, you can try guides like these

there's more of them if you google

there's another technique that involves slipstreaming the SATA drivers into your XP CD (find it on google)

And also a somewhat related article (not sure if it applies)
