Is the bulb in a digital projector negatively effected if the power goes out suddenly? That is, is the life of the bulb shortened at all by the sudden power outage?

When you turn Projectors off you still hear the fan running because it cools the bulb down. If the power just goes off there is a chance the bulb can be ruined for good from that point on.. you will know.. If it can shorten the life span... i don't know
