I had an onboard Realtek Audio Chip. I was running fine i.e., I was able to hear sounds , play movies and games everything. However Suddenly One day all was Gone. I could no longer hear any Sound. The Peculiar problem is:

1. I could hear no sound when playing songs or movies.
But
2. When I play "Plants vs Zombies" I hear the sound all right. But in other games I don't.
3. In Device Manager I see Something Like this:

4. When I click Volume Control Icon in the lower left corner of my screen, I see this error:

Please HELP! Shall Be grateful for Guidance!:sigh:

My Spec:
Intel Pentium 4 2.26 Ghz
768 MB DDR Ram
160 GB HDD
ASUS P4GE-MX Motherboard

Sorry I forgot to tell you. I tried the following solutions but didn't solve:
1. Checked the "Windows Services" in services.msc. Found no Problem.
2. Installed and Re-Installed all possible drivers, latest as well as from the motherboard disc for the windows XP x86v. Didn't Solve.

u see in the picture..... My Drivers for Realtek AC'97 is installed. ANd If there was some problem in the drivers itself then why should I hear the sound while playing the game.

After I reinstalled the Driver (Sound), I see only one flagged yellow Unknown Device which has the Driver Instance ID:

ACPI\PNPB006\4&323CF337&0

I downloaded and Installed the Chipset Drivers...didn't solve...

Thanks for Reply
