I'm having problems with my Internet connection and other people in the dorms aren't. So I'm guessing it's something in my computer. When I try to open website most of the time it says "The Page Cannot Be Displayed" and I have to refresh it a few times before it comes up.

MSN messenger isn't connecting. Skype is connected.

Sometimes when I'm surfing the images come up as broken images.

I have IE and Firefox and I'm having the same problem on both.

I've pinged yahoo.com and everything looks stable. Once in a while a packet will take longer to comeback, but I think that's normal...

Anyways, I'd appreciate your help. Thanks..

You can try and run the System File Checker you may have some corrupt files.

Go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow ( sfc if not reconized) (Note that there is a space between sfc and /scannow)

This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem.

In all likelihood you will be prompted to insert the Windows XP CD.

Also you might want to run WinsockFix

Download WinsockFix and unzip it. Then double-click on it to run it.
