Hello all,

I am using XP pro. I am having some kind of an issue with image files. My Browsers, IE6, IE7, IE8, Mozilla, Safari, Netscape, Opera Will freeze up and/or simply abort while trying to download an image. It works at times well than suddenly it will not download anything at all without freezing and/or aborting the browser.

Furthermore, I am having what I assume is the same issue in Windows explorer. While browsing the file in details mode it works fine until the icon of a Jpg file enters the window then it freezes and/or aborts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it does always seem to be with JPG images. I really do not understand how Windows deals with images. However, I am quite sure my computer is virus free and I have updated everything there is to update. I use PS7 once or twice a week so I really do not want to remove it. Any insight as to how Windows deals with images would be appreciated.

Hello CCT,

This sounds very simular to my problem, but the folks on this thread seem to saying the problem is isolated to IE which is not my nexperience at all. I changed the file associations to Mozilla for Jpegs so hopefully the problem will get better soon. I do appreciate your help.

Out of interest;

When you look at files for the associations (Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Types) do you have an entry for jpg and jpe as well as jpeg?

Have you tried using Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as the default viewer just to see if that functions OK?

CCT,

Yes I Do. I have JPG, Jpeg, and JPE.

Mc Corton,

Were you also having issues in Windows Explorer with jpg images? I will Look at the download.

Thank you both for your help.
