Hi all.
I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M1425, with WinXP Home and a built in Realtek 8100c ethernet adapter. Problem is that It cannot assign an IP no matter where i connect it,etc cable mode, other pc, network. Always gets 169.xxx adress. Tried unistalling and reinstalling the card, change of drivers, winsock checks and resets and various other solutions with no luck.
Btw i have a netgear pcmcia net card and works greta on the same machine...
Fujitsu siemens told me is not hardware related..

I already assigned a static ip with the data from the netgear connection (we have static ip with the cable), it does connect but nothing works.

The 169.254.x.x address indicates you're not seeing the DHCP server. Since I presume the same cable and router work with the other adapter, I have to conclude that either you have a driver issue, or the on-board Ethernet is defective.
