I have a HP XW8200

2 hard drives IDe and SATA

Windows is on the IDE HDD, after connecting SATA windows won't start not start, when I manage it to start the SATA HDD is nod displayed neither in my computer nor in the Computer Management > Disk Management

This is what I uset to get
(Non-System disk or disk error.
Replace and strike any key when ready)

SATA HDD is seen in BIOS, IDE is set to first boot and no hard drive jumpers to Master / Slave / Cable select

is present on either HDD.

WIN XP SP3

Jumper pins are not required for SATA drives. However, depending on what brand of IDE hard drive you have, you need to have a jumper pin set. Western Digital Drives run as a Master with out a jumper pin. Most other brands require a jumper pin setting. You want to set the IDE drive jumper to be Cable Select. there should be a diagram on the top of the IDE hard drive showing you jumper pin configuration. Then in the Bios set the boot order for the IDE hard drive to be first. If you can get both drives to show up, consider cloning your Windows installation to the SATA hard drive using Ghost or Acronis or other various free cloning software. like clonezila Then making sure the SATA cable is pluged intothe SATA 0 input on the motherboard, set the boot order to be SATA0 first then IDE etc.

go in bios, boot option-sata hdd enable
Ok just saying "" go into bios blah blah blah"" won't help me. I mean I have a loooot of functions in my bios and any of them can be a problem. How do you know what king of bias I have? That's right. I need someone who have experienced it already on the same machine and solved this problem.

telling me to go to bias and enabling a hard drive wil not help me because I have done it like 5 limes rechecked and it still doesn't work.
