ok, i have a relatively old computer i acquired form a friend, ok so it has 200MHz Processor   yea i know. but i am trying to get into the BIOS to config some things and i am blocked by this password. is there some way i can get around this? or remove this password fuction like revert it back to the time when there was no password? i don't know anything about removing BIOS or CMOS chips so i doin't want to do that. is there some way i can flash it? does that work for CMOS setups if you flash them they go back to brand new kinda thing? or can i take out the battery and put it back in and will that reset it to no password?

thanks in advance

Norin:

Remove the computer power cord from the electrical wall socket / then look at the mobo / next to the CMOS batery (shiney watch like looking battery about one inch in diameter) there will be three pins / there should be a jumper cap connecting pins 1 & 2 you will need to change to the position 2 & 3 for about 20 minutes / then restore the jumper shunt back to its origianl position

that will completely wipe all settings in bios / you will need to enter bios and reset time settings etc / but password will be gone.

regards
